Sarah Lee Armstrong is an independent choreographer and professional dancer working within the socio-cultural and political sphere of the body, the liminality of motion, visual arts, dance and performance and from the somatic, choreographic and corporeal conduct of magick, ritual and nordic pagan lineage.
Her recent works deals with the inner and outer landscapes of origin -the experiential anatomy, physiology and the somatics of landscape. Investigatning the choreographic vocabulary in relation to nature, occultism and manifestation.
The “HEX” represents the feminine and queer protagonist,feared and admired for their intuitive interconnectivity to nature and inherent undomesticated darkness. as above, so below, as within, so without, as the universe, so the soul
She has a decade of artistic practise behind her and works both nationally and internationally.
Previously she has performed at Théâtre National de la danse Chaillot (Paris), Mercat de les Flors (Barcelona), Bonnie Bird Theatre (London), Louisiana Museum of Modern Art (Copenhagen), Bora Bora Dance and Performance Art Theatre (Århus), Royal Festival Hall at Southbank Centre (London), EMMA- Espoo Museum of Modern Art (Helsinki), AeroWaves Dance Festival, Gothenburg Art Biennale, and Roskilde Festival Art Zone.
